Face painting

Went to Arnie's this afternoon and bought some face paints. Liesl wanted to be a tiger this afternoon and a morpho butterfly tomorrow. She was very good all weekend so far and very good today for all of the shopping and running around and excitement. Usually she is a handful through all that. Very proud of her. She loved her when she was done and kept looking in the mirror all day at it. Image got her a saucer sled which she had a blast going down the hill. She for once wanted to hear me tell her the story of what we had been doing rather than a story about Diego for bed......thank godon

Went for a drive to ski trails

Went for a drive to the ski trails where Barb and Kaethe were skiing. Nice trails, nice shopping beautiful scenery on the way. Wish I could ski today. Maybe next year I will break them out and pull the baby

Up at the cottage

Left to go up to the cottage on Thursday afternoon with Liesl, Mom and Ota. Liesl had an awesome  time in swim class that day so was rewarded a lot for it. She listened and did exceptionally well in all of the tasks that Miss Melanie put her through. She got really sick last week and it think it really screwed her whole week. She also missed out on our wonderful valentines tea. Poor little thing was so sad When I left and then poor thing was sick for 4 days. Before the plague hit we all went out for dinner at chineese and Liesl did amazing with chopsticks. We took a video and I am hoping to post it on YouTube. Not currently in range for that. Yesterday Liesl went sledding 3 times. We have the toboggan up here so Kaethe, aunt Barb, mom, liesl and I all piled on. She loved it. We sure as heck are all going today. The hill is all ready for her and snow is past my knees. Going to armies to look for some crafts now. See you soon

Been a long time

I have been so busy with being a stay at home mom, barefoot and  pregnant that I have let the blog get away from me. I think of you every day and I will try to promise to be more faithful to you. This pregnancy is a little bit harder on me than the last. I don't know what the factors are that are making it so and I don't even wanna speculate. I have been getting killer heartburn since about the 20th week. Not fun. I wasn't diagnosed with gestational diabetes either which is good. I don't know if I could have handled pricking my finger 5 times a day either. It seems also that I feel this baby moving quite a bit more than Liesl did. I could be wrong though. I was a lot more stressed with Liesl and I am  happy for the difference there. Today I have another Dr appt, I think it is going to start me at once every 2 weeks.  I really like this office this time around. All of the Doctors have been awesome and have not bugged me about a thing. There is not much longer to go here. Looking forward to seeing her cute little face.We have gotten the baby's room all set up for her with lots of help from everyone. Thank you to everyone's painting skills and to Heather for helping me get that crib back together. I was stressing a little about it. The room is of course pink. I am looking for some fabric to make curtains and I was going to stencil some thistles on the wall. Not currently a priority.

Liesl has already been great about the pregnancy and has been a great help around the house....most days. She helps with the dishes, the laundry, picking up her own things, picking out her own clothes since I put a clothes rail down low for her to do so. We painted both of the girl's rooms recently. Liesl's room is purple, she has princess Aurora and Tinkerbell fairy stickers on the wall and some flower shaped shelves on the wall with an Aurora music-box and of course a Tinkerbell statue. She also has some new bedding on the bed. A princess bedspread and pillowcase, Liesl and I made some more princess pillowcases and a bed skirt with princess Tiana and Prince Naveen on it that she picked out. I am quite happy with the room and I think she is too. We also have gotten a little into making "ugly dolls". The latest of dolls I made for her she had quite the hand in designing. When I was finished she giggled and told me that it was perfect. If that isn't the most rewarding feeling I dont know what would have been. I am hoping to make more of them and sell them on Etsy. We shall see how that goes. She is such a chatterbox all of the time. It is so much fun to play with her and her doll houses. She loves to make up songs, She just made up one about how she loves me so much. We have been doing a lot of fun stuff as a family. Henry Ford museum, Zoo days, Dinosaur Museum days and play dates. We are able to let Gavin and Liesl play in their room or in the basement at the Perry's house without too much intervention. It is nice. She has really developed her creative make believe play with and without toys. Makes her pretty self reliant. She is excited about every holiday and looks forward to the next every time. She is very much looking forward to her sister coming and asks about her all of the time, hugs and kisses my belly and tells me of all of the things she will do with and for her little sister. She has already culled out her baby toys and clothes and tells me they are for baby Jeanie. So proud of her.

Beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Here are a few pictures to help catch up on my blogging. Liesl has been a great help around the house. She was an enormous help with the leaves this year no matter what this picture looks like. She always wanted to go out there and help pick them up. So I guess our yard will look that much better next year. I dont think I posted any pictures of her in her halloween outfit this year. She had tons of fun in her rapunzel dress and she uses it alot to play dress up. Gavin and Liesl have been doing more visiting now that I am out of work. We visited the nature center a few weeks ago and took pictures under thier tree. Friday the 4 of us went to the mall so Heather could get some stuff done and Liesl and Gavin played in the Play area, visited Disney Store and we had a nice lunch in the Coney Island. Thanks Heather for the treat. After the mall we all went into Rochester Hills to have story time with Mrs Claus. We listened very well considering our level of tired. Liesl participated well with the story time and helped out Mrs Claus while she read "Elf on a Shelf" and "Reindeer Magic". The kids got to have christmas cookies and make a reindeer candy cane project. I think they enjoyed themselves alot. Liesl and I are looking forward to finishing up our suprise craft with Gavin and Heather.

Everything went very well with the ultrasound and the last appointment with our little Jeanie (yes it is a Girl). The Dr told us the ultrasound indicated everything ok and that she was about 13 oz at the time. We all know how accurate that weight thing is with ultrasounds though. Liesl was a lot lighter than the ultrasound indicated. Since that appt she has been moving and grooving in there and I really can feel her kick and squirm all of the time. Can really feel it on the outside too. Cant wait for Liesl to catch her little sisiter moving in there. We visited the Home Depot and picked out paint for the girls rooms and some for the rest of the house and are hoping to get that all underway. Girls rooms first of course. There is a lot to spackle around here though and a little bit of wallpaper borders but nothing too major. Friday we will be getting insultation in here and hopefully our heating and cooling will drastically improve. Taking advantage of some tax breaks and a consumers edison break. Should help alot. We looked at tile for the dining room and it looks like that is out. We will be getting new carpet as soon as we can though. This stuff we have is UG-LY.
