Christmas is almost here

Well, we are having Christmas Eve at our new house and we are so very excited. We have been burning in the fireplace. It is such a wonderful little fireplace and looks lovely. Dixie Dog has been staying with us for the past week and she and Liesl are having a great time. Liesl has someone she thinks she can boss around and Dixie gets lots of loving and petting from her. Very Symbiotic. Presents have been rolling in on the UPS truck all week long because of course I work such crazy hours  and only have the 24th off due to sheer luck and with picking Liesl up each night from her Oma's houses I dont have time to go to the stores. But nevermind that, I think I get much more done and am far less pressured while shopping at my desk at work :)

Liesl has been trying to break into the boxes with her gifts all week. She is getting so many fun things that I am thinking of just putting all of her other things away for Christmas morning. This is gonna be a really exciting Christmas and she is so excited about Santa and knows all about him and all of the Reindeer names and everything Santa. She has quite a few Christmas Carols to memory like Frost the "noman" and Jingle Bells and maybe another I cannot remember. She is primed and ready to go. I think on Christmas eve I am going make sure that all of her new toys are all put together and set out so it makes the maximum impact.

Christmas Eve we will be having 16 people over for dinner. We have the banquet table all set up in my studio and all the games ready to go! It is gonna be a blast. I hope everyone has a great time.

Merry Christmas!

It's all about the man in the red suit

Liesl went to see Santa again on Friday. She brought him a cookie (the only kid that brought Santa a present) and told him she forgot to bring the carrots for the reindeer. I really enjoyed these with because they actually got pictures of her when she was telling him she what she would like for Christmas (Barbies). I don't know if I or the Omas could fit all the Barbies she would like in our houses! I really liked the one where she was cuddling and smiling with Santa. Thanks to both Omas for getting all these wonderful pictures from the last couple weeks with Santa!

Yesterday we kicked off the holiday festivities with Veronika's birthday (our usual appetizers, birthday cake and chili). Liesl and I managed to get our tree up on Saturday night, and the lights in the front window. She really helped make the chili too on Sunday morning. She helped measure and stir her pot and I think it turned out so much better because of her help! We even managed to have our first fire in our fireplace thanks to the wood we all cut on Saturday from mom and dad's back yard. What a wonderfully festive house we have this year and we are so ready to have Christmas Eve. Thank you to everyone that came and made it special for Veronika and helped kick off the Holiday season!
