Baby it's cold outside

The girls are getting so big! I cant believe how grown up they both are looking in their Valentines/Winter pictures we took with cousin Robbie Monday.

Getting the pictures done was far from fun and we didn't really like the studio and will not go back but the pictures turned out fabulous. It is so hard to get pictures done of the kids at regular intervals.

It has been a long time since I have wrote so I will try and do a catch up. I get so little time to put updates on here.

Liesl has been enjoying school a lot more lately. She is doing awesome in math and on the one math program she uses at school she is half way through the 1st grade lessons. Her penmanship has really improved since the beginning of the school year and I can actually read what she is writing now and it isn't so crazy big. She used to write her first name over the span of 2 lines before because it is so long. I think we have gotten into the groove with the glasses and the eye patching now. I found a pair of glasses that she really likes to wear and are so comfortable that she doesn't even know they are on and I have to tell her to take them off for bed. She willingly puts them on too. I know she is realizing that she really can see a lot better with them on. She should, she is farsighted +4.5 which is crazy thick. The patches are cool patterns too and she doesn't fuss too much on them. Hopefully we can kick that out of the park and get this patching over with. She has also started getting a little less shy at school. She does a little better in smaller groups and has actually started talking and not hanging on my leg at girl scouts. In scouts, she caught up to all of the 1st graders on their badge work. Looks like I have put myself in line to take over the daisies next year when the current leaders bridge up to brownies. She is really excited about that. The troop will probably be a little smaller then too. The troop did fantastic with their cookie sales this year. Hopefully we can do something really cool with the money they earned. They have already been to Disney on Ice, the Soup kitchen, the Police Station, Camp Hawthorn Hollow overnight and they are going to make T-Shirts tomorrow. I really like this troop, I will try and coordinate with them next year when I take over the younger girls.

Jeannie has been learning in leaps and bounds as well. She still takes naps thank god but it is a little harder to get her down. She sleeps at night from 13 hours to 17 strait! and then takes a nap. Girl likes her sleeping. She has 10 teeth in her mouth now but it took a super long time for them to come in. She is still our little tiny-mite. Her hair is getting long enough to put into pigtails now and she looks so cute with them in. She loves to dress up. That is her favorite, dress up in everyone's clothes. But her absolute favorite is to be naked. She has started potty training on her own thank god with the nakedness. She can go tinkle on the potty and has done it at least 6 times now in the past couple weeks. It may be because of the cloth diapers and she knows she is wet more. We recently went to Soaring Eagle and Great Wolf water parks and both of the girls were really into it. Both of them were all over the slides. Liesl on the big huge ones and Jeannie on the little tyke slides. Jeannie has gotten into the trains a bit lately and we have expanded our tracks and train selection here and at mom's and aunt Melisa's house. Jeannie has been trying to say everything lately. She says "uncle" for uncle Scott. She tries to say "aunt" for aunt Melisa. Oma, Opa, Dadda, Momma, apple, Orange, Cookie, Bear, Baby, Soup ("more soup" the other day which is her first 2 words together), milk, juice, bottle, boots, glove, shirt, shoe, coat, hat (all words to get ready to go out into our "icy tundra" as Jim puts it. Lets see...what else up, done, yeah, no (she also likes to say no sissy), Im sure there is much more but I can hear her waking up. She usually will wake up and play in the crib for a little before calling for us to take her out. She will even start calling "Sissy!" if no one else is answering. She misses sissy all day when she is at school and asks about her until we pick her up. Well, hope I can get to this more often.
