Peace Bear Earned!

Liesl earned Peace the Bear this morning. I am so proud of her. She is really coming along with potty training. She is so funny on the potty grunting and squishing up her face when she is trying to go.

Yesterday we visited the zoo again on the late night. Liesl ran the show and let us know what animals to see as we went along. It was very fun and she definitely enjoyed it. She was done when she was done and thankfully it was when we were near the exit.

Liesl's email is lieslgabriele@gmail.com. sorry I forgot to add it to the last post.

Peace!

Liesl has her own email

I created an email for Liesl yesterday so the Omas can email her when they are on vacation or if anyone will be interested in emailing her so she can read them later. I will not be deleting them. I have also created an Amazon Wish list for her for those of you who are interested and also myself to get organized for her birthday. Please don't think I am fishing for presents for her. That is not the idea. Here is the link:

Dr Liesl

Yesterday when I was making dinner Liesl was playing with her zoo animals. I heard her saying to them, "open mouth....say ahhhhh...... see teeth animals". It was very cute. When I asked her if she was their doctor she told me no.

Before that I decided to go to the condo to empty out some of the storage there because Liesl was sleeping in the car. She did wake up and was looking a little serious. When I got into the car and drove home she didnt say a word but when I went to take her out of the carseat she looked away and pouted. She wouldnt look at me when I was taking her out and when I asked her if she was mad at Momma she pouted "yes".... She got over it quick though.

Poo-Poo Piggie and more!

Well, looks like Liesl is doing good with the potty training. She has now done 3 #1's and 1 #2 in her potty chairs at both Oma Gabi's and at Home. Yay girl! So far she has earned Poo-Poo Piggy, Pee- Pee Monkey, Pee-Pee Rooster and Pee-Pee Pelecan. Mom and I have a bunch of beanie babies that we will be using for rewards. Yesterday, I think she wanted to go Pee-Pee on the potty and she pulled off her diaper and pee'd on me! Well enough of the potty talk. I wont share the other pics we have. Hehe. It is amazing how excited Moms, Dads and Omas, Opas and Grandads can get about potty training success.

Liesl is continuing her trend of wanting to see the animals every day. This weekend, Daddy, Liesl and I visited the Wolcott Mill Farm Ctr. She enjoyed it very much. This time was a big Cow and Sheep day. It is different every time. She also asked to go visit the "Red hawk" at the Nature Ctr but we didnt really have time. It is really nice and peaceful there and we totally understand why she likes it there. She went back with Oma Gabi and Grandad yesterday and again today for "playschool" with Barb, Kayla, Colton and Oma Gabi again and also to the storytime for further "playschool" activities.

She was extremely helpful this weekend when I was weeding the lawn. When she was not playing with her animals, her trike and in the pool on the lawn she would ferry the weeds to the curb for me.

Animals, Animals, Animals and Swimming

Liesl seems to have developed some serious "favorites" I forgot to say earlier that this weekend she was at the Nature Center saying "Animals Best Friend" and of course "More Animals". Oma Gabi has been obliging her every day with More Animals. Today Oma put her in her Ranger outfit to go to either the Nature Center or the Wolcott Mill Farm again. She really likes the binoculars and the sunglasses that go with the outfit but as toddlers have this unique fashion sense she wore it with her pink water shoes and of course topped it off with her pink bandana to make sure everyone knew about her girlie roots. I am so glad that when we go on our Disney Trip in August that she is going to get to go to Animal Kingdom. She is totally going to be in her element and I am going to of course bring the Ranger Outfit for her. Hopefully she will be 35 inches by then to ride all of the kid rides we would like her to experience. She is 34 inches right now. maybe her tennies will do it for her.

Yesterday evening Liesl, Oma and I went to visit Barb and her pool and Sandi also showed up to watch us swim. Liesl was totally in her element in that pool. She liked to walk up and down the stairs and was totally comfortable with being splashed (which she asked for), walking in to her chin, thrown from Oma to Momma, dunked and swimming between Oma and Momma. She is Momma's little Guppie I tell you. It was a little chilly outside the pool so it was best that we all stay in because it was nice at 85 degrees in there. Liesl was swimming for 3 hours almost and I couldnt get her out.

She kept on trying to run back in on her own. She was really liking the "motorboat song" and me jumping in and splashing her creating waves for her in the whale blow up raft. One time I stood her up outside the pool because she wanted to jump in herself. She started running over to the diving board with me pulling myself like crazy next to her trying to get her to stop and she ran on the diving board to jump in. Fortunately something distracted her and she stopped and I was able to get her to come back to me.

Chilling next to the pool with "Pee-Pee Monkey"

Zoo Wednesday and Nature Center Sunday

Wednesday, Momma, Daddy and Liesl went to the Zoo which Liesl loved. The Animals were in a different routine because of the late hour so it was a different kind of experience there. The Red Panda was out and about which I have never seen before and the White Rhino was within 8 feet of us right up against the enclosure which was a treat.

Liesl got to play on the playground while Daddy ate his dinner. The playground there is quite extensive and there were a lot of toddlers there to hang out with and interact with. She was not happy to leave until she knew what else she was going to see.

This weekend the first thing out of Liesl's mouth was that she wanted to see Animals of course. We tried our best on Saturday but got a little bit of a late start. "Poppa" Jack went with us to the Stoney Nature Center ( It wasn't open but we did get to go for a walk and drive and see the red tailed hawk which she doesn't stop talking about. We came back to the Nature Ctr on Sunday for the kids day and Liesl got to see the turtles being fed and made a caterpillar and got to pet a snake... and of course see the "red hawk" again. All in all it was a great weekend. She still wanted to see more animals by the end of the day. I let her know to ask Oma Gabi tomorrow.....and of course Oma obliged with Wolcott Mill this morning

Potty training success!

This morning I put Liesl on the potty and she produced a little fart and pee peed! I am so proud of her! Guess I will need to get those rewards ready.

Liesl spent a lot of time outside this weekend. We had the pool out of course. She played on the swings and slide castle, drew with chalk on the sidewalk, played in the sand at the beach across the street and went for a wagon ride to DQ for some icecream. Yesterday Liesl went down for a nap for about 10 minutes then refused to nap for the rest of the day until bedtime. Overall she seemed ok and was not crabby at all. It was a good weekend overall.

Wednesdays at the zoo

I have swapped scheduled with someone else for July and possibly August to the earlier shift on Wednesdays to participate in the "open late zoo days". I met up with Liesl, Oma Gabi, Aunt Gloria and Aunt Barb and Autumn or Aumum as Liesl calls her. Liesl had a great time despite the heat there. She was able to get wet at the Frog Fountains with the other kids and at the misting stations and with Oma's water mister and loved that. She was actually upset when we decided to go home saying "more animals momma". She has definately found the value in saying someone's name after statements/requests. We saw all of the cooler exhibits like the polar bears who were swimming around of course in that heat, the otters which were really fun to watch playing around in thier "waterpark" and the amphibians

Independance Weekend

This weekend I was like a machine getting the house in order. I was finally able to get Liesl's toddler bed together. Which she has been sleeping in since. She spent her nap in it yesterday for 2 hours and she slept for 8 hours in it last night until I took her out (still sleeping) to nurse so she would sleep through to 9 for daddy. A very successful night. I think she really likes the firmness of the mattress. I just need to get some cute bedspread for it. Was looking at a Tinkerbell set the other day that might do. I was also able to put up her name on the wall. get all of the Barbies hair conditioned :P and put all of her clothes away.

Some other things I was able to do this weekend was to get the sprinklers primed and working and on a timer.... Still have some kinks to work out but it is getting better every time, replaced the disposal, Got my studio cleaned up, the family room sorted out and the cables for the DVD player and Roku hidden away and the bathrooms sorted out. Even found my fish shower curtain and fishie rings to spice it up. Liesl loves the theme in the batroom with all of the fishes.

Liesl has been getting really god with the potty training. She has started to let us know when she has to poop and has been getting rewarded for it with stickers. Saturday, she decided that she wanted to sit on the potty to try and poop. She tried really hard to get something out, sat on there for about 15 min which is a really long time but was only able to produce a toot. I was so proud of her.

It was so hot out this weekend, Liesl spent most of the weekend in her pool with tons of sunscreen on. No matter how much sunscreen I put on and however often she still seems to look like the coppertone baby. She has such a tan going. And believe me, I am really good about putting on the sunscreen. She is liking being splashed alot. She wants me to splash her even on the face and then asks me to do it again. She is so much more comfortable with the water. Kind of like last weekend with her walking into the water with the life jacket without holding my hand at Lake James.

She has been doing alot of alone play with her Barbies having them act out things. But it is all in this Liesl speech. I call it "Sims" speech because it sounds just like the made up language from the Sims. her Barbies look so much better after I boiled their hair to smooth it out. Even the most problem Barbies hair look good now.

Oma Ronnie and Opa Peter took Liesl to Metro beach on Friday. She had a blast in their water park playing with the water squirting out of the ground. I will post some pictures later.
