Grandad flying solo

Grandad was flying solo today. He came early this morning to sit while Liesl was sleeping. She slept in until about 9:30 and then I got a text "Aren't I lucky. She just crapped her pants. Where are the wipes". I giggled then I let him know. Apparently, per mom, he had just changed her into her play clothes and new diaper. Hehehehe. Called a little later at about 11:45 and she was in class. Mom said that she was so anxious to go to class today. I cant wait to hear about it from dad. He still has a little more time before mom hooks back up with him from Ota's Dr appt.

Singing and Dancing! Horrah!

Liesl had her gymnastics class yesterday. From what mom tells me, she went on a lot more of the activities but is still working on her listening/following the group skills. But that is what it is all about. She was a lot less shy yesterday and had a lot of fun playing with the parachute. She also had a really good time at Storytime in the library singing and reading the very hungry catterpillar which apparently my mom has never heard and wants to either take out of the library or buy for her.

Sunday we had a baby dance party at Oma Gabi's house, dancing to a Laurie Berkner CD I just downloaded. I really am liking it. thank you Heather for turning me on to her. It really calms Liesl down when I sing the songs to her too. Liesl likes to make everyone participate by grabbing thier hand and bringing them to the "dance floor". She had Oma Ronnie and Opa Peter, Melisa, Oma Gabi and Grandad and of course momma and Ota dancnig with her.

Monday night we visited some friends and Liesl found a new fan. I have never seen her take to someone so fast as with Joslyn. She was asking her to carry her around so she could see Joslyn's birds and little chihuaua and giving her kisses and telling her secrets. very cute.

Liesl has started bringing her "baby" which is my old handmade cabbage patch doll everywhere. from house to house. She doesnt necessarily play with her all the time when she is at wherever she is at but she insists on bringing her everywhere.

She is doing very well with learning animals and fruits and veggies and body parts. She knows to ask to eat and when she wants a bottle. her teeth have really been bothering her though and it has made her a little crabby because she has been waking up alot in the middle of the night. I have been having to give her tylenol more and she has been doing better with it.

KinderMusik Thursday

Liesl had a good time at Kindermusik yesterday. Oma said that she is the only kid that is interested in dancing. All the other kids like to be held by their caregivers. The danced and sang and played with scarves pulling them through a hole. Liesl came back with alot of class materials such as a book, a cd and an egg shaker that makes noise. This sounds like an awesome class and the person who runs it has a facebook page and she posts pictures on it from class!

Yesterday evening Liesl spent a lot of time reading with me in her crib. We read almost all of her books in her room. Before we went to bed I measured her. she is 32 inches now (2ft 8 in) and 23.4 lbs! She gained 2 lbs since October. I was surprised but not too surprised because I can totally tell that she has. She is a heavy little girl.

Today Liesl is with her Oma Ronnie and Opa Peter's house again. This morning after I woke up to get ready. Liesl woke up and started crying. I had to sing to her while I was getting ready to calm her down but she never did go back to sleep since 7:30 this morning. I have she has a good day with Oma Ronnie. We all know what a tired cranky toddler is like. I just recieved an email from her Oma Ronnie saying that she has been a little mellow and sleepy this morning but has started to pick up since she had her bath. We shall see how she is this afternoon when I come at lunch. Thinking that she might be ready for the nap by then!

Today was a big day for Liesl. I picked her up this morning and she was able to sleep in till nine. At nine thirty we had story time at the local library. We sang and and played with a ball and heard a story read to us by the librarian. Liesl was a little shy but seemed to enjoy the experience. We went home to have breakfast and pick up the Ota and grandad.

Gymnastics school was next. Liesl seemed to enjoy the balance beam the best. She liked walking along it holding on to Oma's hands. She especially liked the soft mat at the end because it was very colorful and had shapes and numbers on it. The teacher said it was unusual for her to gravitate so much to the balance beam and commented on her ability to do so well on her first try. She did not care for rolling or some of the other activities. She did however love the parachute when she got the hang of raising it in the air in unison with the other kids.

Grandad tooks us both to lunch after gymnastics and we went to get groceries after that. She is very tired now and is taking a nap.

Yes...she is on the table

Liesl does love to climb on the table... Dont know why. Last night she decided to get into her "Art Box" and thew everything on the floor...crayons, markers, paper, Play Doh, paint ...everything! Then she went onto the ground and started putting her crayons and markers in and out of the boxes. Wish she would play with them in the conventional way but she is putting things away.....Last night we also did a lot of playing with the Play Doh. She enjoys smooshing it and pushing it into the molds. She got to sleep in yesterday and Oma Ronnie came and picked her up and took her out to lunch and visited the Funky Frog. Oma Ronnie let me know that everyone was very impressed with how well behaved she was while all the other kids in the restaurant were less than well behaved. She had a good time yesterday at her Oma Ronnie's ond Opa Peter's house and was ready to pass out before we even got out of their sub.

Today Liesl went to Storytime at the Library. Oma Gabi said that she had a very good time there signing and playing with the rest of the kids. She also did Gym class for the first time today and had a very good time with that. Grandad took photos and Oma is going to blog a little later about it hopefully

Visit from Grandpa Jack

This weekend Grandpa Jack came to visit us. Liesl had a great time showing off for her Gandpa. She was reading her books and making sounds for the animals as usual. We all really miss her grandma Jean and wish that she could have been here too. But we all know that she always will be as long as we remember her.

Saturday Afternoon with Momma

Liesl must be still having so much pain from the molars pushing through because she was very hard to put to sleep this afternoon but she is resting comfortably right now. She had a busy morning cruising around the condo and playing. Dragging Momma by the hand. We read many books before noon today. She does love to read.

Frohe Geburtstag Scotti Onkel!

Well the Dakota Inn was a success! Liesl got about a half hour of sleep in the car on the way down and then slept through an hour of Dakota Inn noise. When she woke up she played in her high chair with Playdoh with Momma and talked to the little baby boy next to her. She loved singing and clapping to the music with everyone and overall had a great time. She also had a lot of fun dancing with Shannon, swaying to the music. As always, Liesl enjoyed everyone's company and is sleeping soundly right now from all of the action.

Thank god for the weekend

Today is Uncle Scotti's Birthday and we are going to the Dakota Inn to celebrate. We got a BluRay DVD for him and I hope that he likes it. I know Liesl will. Today was a very rough day for everyone. Liesl started out the day at Oma Ronnie's house waking up and crying.....not just crying....very upset. It broke my heart to go to work when she was in that state. I guess she had a very rough day for listening to what she should and shouldn't be doing. I am hoping that Oma Ronnie and Opa Peter can get some rest and relaxation in her wake. I am sure it all was due to waking up before she was ready to this morning. I am hoping that she sleeps this evening before going to a restaurant because Liesl and I don't handle the restaurant experience very well and this may go badly for us all.

Hey! (tap tap) is this thing on?

This is the first posting since we found out that the AboutMyBaby site is going away. The website will be maintained until August but I wont be posting anything new on that website. I am going to get an archive stick from that company so I dont lose anything. That would be disasterous.

Liesl had her first KinderMusik class today with her Oma Gabi. Mom said that she enjoyed it very much but she was a little shy and hid behind a curtain a little. Not what I expected but it would definately follow my personality. She will be going to KinderMusik every Thursday.

Next Tuesday she will be doing a Gymnastics class. I bought her a leotard, ballet slippers and a cute little skirt. I hope she likes the class. Grandad signed her up at the library for storytime in Romeo/Washington. I think on Tuesdays.... She missed this week because she threw up Monday night in the middle of the night and had a fever for the next couple days. She is doing much better today though.

I have finally been able to get her back on schedule with the sleeping since Christmas/New Years and she is back to bedtime at 9:30 YAY! She does have her own mind about things and alot of the time it is her way or a tantrum. She does very well with all of her greens espcially brussell sprouts! Just like momma :) Seems like her favorite is breakfast food. Cereal, eggs, etc. She is an ever changing little being that we are sooooo proud of!
