Liesl woke up really early this morning sometime before 7 am . She must have known that Momma had to take her to Storytime this morning and didnt want to miss a thing. I tried to feed her breakfast this morning (cocoa wheats) but she only took a few bites of it. She also decided to start the morning out with one of the most horrendous BMs ever. Stinky butt even after the change! Good thing I waited to change her into her play clothes. We were able to get out the door and on our way banana and sippy cup in hand for a snack on the go ..... which she did eat in the car when we arrived (on time) at the Romeo library. I thought we did pretty good.
I really like storytime at the Romeo Library. All the moms/dads and toddler/babies are in a circle (of course) on a brightly colored carpet with the teacher at the head with a lap harp. He leads some songs, reads a book, played with some large blocks with the kids and does a little Q/A about the week. What we ate for breakfast, what we did new this week, etc. Fun stuff.
We sang Old MacDonald with some felt animals on the board, read The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats, tried to get the kids to walk through a doorway we made with large cardboard blocks and sang a few more songs.
Liesl was VERY well behaved. She knows that she is supposed to sit quietly and sing if everyone is singing. She listens very well and sits while the teacher is reading and singing. I am so proud of her. She did not throw a fit or run off like some other kids.
After class, Liesl and I had a couple minutes to kill before going to Oma Ronnie's for the day so we went into the kid's library section to play a little with the toys. Liesl was playing with a stacking toy when another little girl came over and sat between her and I and started taking pieces from the toy and tried to take some from her hands. Thank goodness for her playtime/sharing time with Gavin. She has learned to share very well and didnt get upset when the other little girl tried to grab the toy from her.
The class sounds like fun!
